Fall-Off-the-Bone Oven Cooked Ribs!

I can’t say no to ribs….

Today I woke up feeling under the weather. Over the weekend my husband and toddler had a cold, and I knew I was going to get it. So I wanted something yummy for dinner tonight. I went on Pinterest and looked around on my food board for some inspiration and I found this recipe for Pomegranate Ribs. I took out the ribs that we got on sale, and took the family out for a nice walk on this awesome day in Vermont! Stopped and got some things at the coop that we needed, got home and started making my ribs.

First I started making my dry rub. Then I started on the pomegranate bbq sauce. I got the recipe from this one blog called Parsley, Sage and Sweet. Thank you so much for the amazing recipe.

I tweaked the dry rub recipe a bit, and the bbq sauce too. But if you wanna go with what she did please go for it!

Pomegranate Baby Back Ribs

Dry Rub ( I made extra)

2 tablespoon sea salt
2 tablespoon paprika
2 tablespoon onion powder
2 tablespoon garlic powder
2 tablespoon dried thyme
2 tablespoon herb de provence
2 tablespoon black pepper
2 tablespoon cayenne pepper

DIRECTIONS:
a. Combine all of the above. Preheat oven to 300 F.
b. Place the ribs on a foil lined sheet pan, sprinkle on and rub into both sides of the ribs until well coated. Cook the Ribs for 30 minutes.

Pomegranate BBQ Sauce

1 cup Pomegranate juice
1 cup blended OJ/Pineapple juice
1 1/2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon *Lilikoi Jam (for those who do not know Hawaiian- it's Passion Fruit)
1/2 large lemon
1 small can of tomato paste

DIRECTIONS:

a. Combine everything into a medium to large sauce pan, and cook low to medium. Whisk while bringing it to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, and let cook until the timer for the ribs goes off. Now the ribs should have been cooking for at least for 30 mins.

b. Bast generously every 30 minutes with the sauce for about 4 hours, depending on the weight/thickness of the ribs.

Serve with your go-to side dish and Enjoy!

Summer is over....But I'm hoping for an Indian Summer?!

I'm excited to be back in school. I've been busy with school and motherhood, so I haven't had much time to blog as of late. I've been doing a lot of research on makeup tutorials, specifically on special effects and setting up a professional makeup mirror at home. I'm still setting up the lights for my studio, and it's coming along well. I will be taking more suggestions on what kind of tutorials you all would like to see, so please keep them coming!
This weekend I'll start making an apron. It's 50s housewife style, complete with a polka-dot pattern, and I'll be taking pictures and posting the progress. Should be fun!
Stay tuned for more!

Love you all XO...

Back to School....

Oh Monday...

Nobody really likes you. You are the start of the work week, school week and it was sunny and nice out today. I'm sure some people just didn't wanna go... But I had a great Monday! Today was the first day back to school (but I got all my school work done last week!) Thank You Monday, I think you and I are going to be great friends! Did some art work, hung out with baby girl and we watched some Absolutely Fabulous! She loved it! Just a non-stop laugh with her today! Now she's sleeping next to daddy...

I worked on some Brickhouse Phontaine things; and got some great ideas for Azoic Sky Media too! I'm still playing around with the business cards but I got the poster done and the logo too...

The business cards are somewhat the same, it's all coming along great. I'm really happy how things are going. I was having some issues with Photoshop CC, but thank you lynda.com for helping me along the way. I now better understand Photoshop CC...
Come back soon for some more! Enjoy the night and sweet dreams XO

Origami Crane Mobile

Just made this mobile for my daughter over the weekend. She is 16 months old, and our little lady bug... Over the winter I got back into to doing Origami again it was a long winter. So I had lots of time to get back into the groove of it.

My sister and I used to do origami together back when we were young (early 20s) and also with an old friend when I lived in Maui.

The mobile I made has big and small cranes hanging from it with little blue beads. I used solid colored origami paper and origami paper with multicolored stars. I also used some green floral wire I had around and sewing thread.

It's been fun; I have some extra cranes... Maybe I'll just make more and do a  window curtain! Until the next time my loves... Enjoy the day it's sunny and beautiful outside xo
